On June 5th, at the Loyola Center in Santiago de Cuba, the World Environment Day was commemorated with an agroecology workshop full of learning, action, and hope.

One of the most symbolic moments was the creation of the “Table of Abundance,” where farmers shared seeds, fruits, vegetables, sweets, and more. As producer José Rodríguez beautifully expressed: “Abundance isn’t just about filling our stomachs. It’s about sharing what we have. It’s commitment. Participation. Abundance means bringing more people into this project to improve quality of life in our community…”

Each participant made a concrete commitment to care for our Common Home, involving their families and communities.

From the Loyola Center Santiago and the Red Comparte, we continue sowing together a more just, sustainable, and supportive future. Because planting a tree means saving the planet… and sitting together at the Table of Abundance means building community.
