From the Yomol A’tel cooperative group, which is part of the Red Comparte network, we recognized the need to create a space for meeting and mutual learning among women working in the territory, guided by the spirit of cooperativism. This is how the Gatherings of Women Cooperativists came to be, with the aim of creating spaces to share knowledge, strengthen bonds, and grow together—both personally and collectively.

In the second gathering, held in July of this year, six workshops were conducted over two days of work. We acquired and shared tools, reflected on the meaning of being a “woman cooperativist,” analyzed our surroundings, and made visible the roles that we as women play in various spaces—both productive and reproductive. Some testimonials from participants were:

“I truly enjoyed working with all of you, especially getting to know more entrepreneurial women. It was the first time I took part in a workshop, and I was very happy to spend time with the women of Yomol A’tel.”

“Thanks to the organization of each of you, the workshops were short in time but full of learning and very comfortable. For me, it brought peace to my heart and a lot of motivation.”

In this edition, 78 women and 7 children attended. Nine external organizations participated, and all the cooperatives of Yomol A’tel were represented. This is a self-managed effort that we will continue to nurture and grow year after year.
