On November 18th, the Comparte network held its third online Assembly of 2025, a gathering that brought together more than 40 participants from 12 countries, including 9 from Latin America, as well as Canada, the United States, and Spain. Social centers, universities, and allied organizations were present in a space marked by commitment and collaboration.

A powerful beginning on the eve of November 25th

The Assembly opened with an emotional performance of the song “Ella”, led by women driving economic initiatives accompanied by Hogar de Cristo (Ecuador). The gesture sought to highlight the processes of empowerment, autonomy, and restoration of women’s self-worth on the eve of November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Progress that strengthens the network

The first part of the meeting focused on reviewing the progress made by the Working Groups, key actors in implementing the 2025 operational plan. Their increasingly decisive role aligns with the structure outlined in the Network’s Organizational System (SOC Comparte), which defines them as collective and operational spaces that advance strategic themes:

  • Agroecology and Participatory Guarantee System

  • Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment

  • Socio-environmental Audit System

  • Communication

  • Solidarity Economic Circuits

  • Financing for Producer Organizations

Participation remains voluntary and diverse, including individuals from social centers, producer organizations, and experts from partner entities, always supported by the network’s technical team. After presenting their progress, three simultaneous breakout rooms were opened to explore in depth the experience of the Gender Working Group, the Financing Working Group, and the Agroecology–PGS Working Group. Future assemblies will continue broadening the focus to other groups.

Validation of the Comparte Organizational System

One of the milestones of the day was the validation of the network’s Organizational System, the result of a collective systematization process developed since 2024. This document incorporates the growing prominence of the Working Groups within Comparte’s dynamic.

Renewal of the coordination

With the presence of the CPAL delegate, the Assembly approved the continuation of Erminsu Ivan David Pabón as the network’s coordinator for three more years, following a previous period marked by dedication and leadership, valued both by CPAL and the Assembly.
It was also announced that in 2026 the renewal of half of the Facilitating Team will begin, inviting social centers to present candidates for this key body responsible for monitoring agreements, strategic plans, and operational activities.

Strategic processes underway

The meeting also provided the network with updates on three relevant processes:

  • A mapping of current and potential strategic alliances, developed in collaboration with ITESO (Guadalajara, Mexico).

  • An exploratory study on sustainable business models for the commercialization of Comparte products in Spain and Europe, led by Alboan.

  • The start of the mid-term evaluation of the 2024–2027 Strategic Plan, which will take place between December 2025 and March 2026.

A living space for listening and collaboration

Participants appreciated the open atmosphere, the clarity in presenting progress, and the opportunity to discuss real challenges from their territories. Despite the limitations of virtuality, the Assembly was experienced as a space for connection, listening, and exchange, reaffirming the collective identity of the network.

We are a network, we are Comparte.
