On the occasion of March 8 (8M), International Women’s Day, the Comparte Network invites us to listen to the voices of rural women who remind us that, although challenges such as inequality, the burden of care work, and gender-based violence persist, there are also advances, shared learnings, and a collective strength among women that continues moving toward more just, supportive, and sustainable territories.
With the participation of 16 women representing seven social centers, two producer organizations, and two partner universities, the first meeting of the Comparte Network Gender Working Group was held at the end of 2025 at the Instituto Mayor Campesino – IMCA (Colombia). Over five days, participants shared experiences, reflections, and lessons on gender equity, care, and transformative leadership within organizations committed to alternative ways of doing economics.
