With the participation of 38 registered participants from eight Latin American countries—Mexico, Colombia, Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador, Paraguay, Bolivia, and the Basque Country—members of the Comparte Network and the International Research Center for Social and Solidarity Economy (CIIESS) of Universidad Iberoamericana officially launched the Diploma Program in Management and Strengthening of Social and Solidarity Enterprises. This educational initiative aims to strengthen the self-management and autonomy capacities of productive economic initiatives that promote economic alternatives centered on life, solidarity, and care for territories.

The opening session provided an opportunity for participants to get to know one another, share the motivations behind their participation, and begin building a diverse learning community committed to social transformation.

During the opening event, representatives of the Comparte Network and CIIESS highlighted the importance of strengthening the management capacities of solidarity-based economic organizations in a context marked by profound social, economic, and environmental crises. They emphasized that the diploma program seeks to provide practical and conceptual tools to support and enhance economic initiatives that contribute to building alternatives to the prevailing extractivist and exclusionary models.

The academic structure of the program was also presented. Coordinated by Ana Sofía Quiroga, the diploma course will be developed through four modules: a preparatory component focused on financial and accounting foundations; a module aimed at strengthening organizational identity and business models; a space dedicated to commercial and market strategies; and a final module focused on business management tools for social and solidarity enterprises.

During this first week, participants will independently complete the introductory module, designed to level basic knowledge in accounting and financial management—essential foundations for the learning journey ahead.

Through this diploma program, the Comparte Network reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the organizational, economic, and political capacities of initiatives that promote alternative forms of production, commercialization, and consumption, contributing to the construction of more just, solidarity-based economies oriented toward good living.

Welcome to this new experience of collective learning and regional collaboration!
